Shawn Steinke Memorial Garden and Labyrinth

Peggy Logue, Janet Steinke, Nancy McLaughlin, Marketa Anderson, Scott Brunka, and Jerry Shelhorn of Grandma's Gardens worked on a project to create a meditation garden and Labyrinth in memory of Shawn Steinke.  Recently, Bob Henn and Peggy Logue have followed through with the idea to have a Memorial Rock placed at the Labyrinth to identify it is as the Shawn Steinke Memorial Labyrinth.

The labyrinth path is a nautilus, spiral shape with plantings and a bench in the center.  A sign at the beginning of the Labyrinth explains to those approaching how to walk the labyrinth for healing, mindfulness, and peace.

Shawn Steinke was a true nature lover and enjoyed hiking, running, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was a Friend of Miller Ecological Park and attended several meetings, sharing information and expertise as a Master Gardener and owner/operator of Good Natured By Design Landscape Company. All of us at Miller Ecological Park feel very fortunate to have known and shared time with Shawn.

There have been many donations to Miller Ecological Park in his memory and we are using them in a way that would appropriately honor Shawn's memory.
